Before you go

  • Ask about allergens when you order: US food law names nine major allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy and sesame), and kitchens can tell you which dishes contain them.
  • Restaurant inspection results are kept by the city or county health department; many publish them online or post the latest grade at the door.
  • For table service a tip of 15–20% is customary; at counter-service places tipping is optional.

The Dandy was one of our favorite breakfast spots in Traverse City! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The menu had the perfect balance of sweet and savory options, so there was something for everyone. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. I have an egg allergy, and they had no problem substituting my eggs for another protein, which I really appreciated. It’s always nice when a restaurant goes the extra mile to make sure you have a great meal. The fresh juices were delicious and tasted like they were made that morning. The Eggs Benedict is an absolute must-try—perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavor. We also loved the avocado toast, breakfast hash, yogurt parfait, and sandwich. Every dish came out fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. If you’re looking for an amazing brunch in Traverse City with excellent food, top-notch service, and accommodations for dietary restrictions

The Dandy probably has some of the best breakfast reviews around, but is it really worth the hype? Good question for anyone who isn’t willing to wait two hours for brunch on a weekend. We waited about an hour in line, got seated around 12:30 PM, and didn’t get our food until 1:10 PM. Unfortunately, we were seated outside. It started raining and was fairly cold, and the outdoor tables don’t have umbrellas. We initially asked to be reseated but were told no. A little later, I noticed two open booths and another table inside, so I politely asked again since two people in our party were lightly dressed and it was still raining. They eventually moved us inside, though not exactly enthusiastically. One of the waitresses (tall with curly hair) definitely gave off a “whatever it is, that’s your problem” kind of vibe, which didn’t help the experience. I do want to give credit where it’s due: the food was great. I had the crab benedict and a mimosa, and both were delicious. The mimosa tasted like it was made with fresh juice, which was a nice touch. For me, though, dining out is about the overall experience, not just the food. It felt like the seating situation and lackluster service un

First time trying The Dandy. The décor is beautiful, and the atmosphere is very inviting. The food was good, but nothing particularly memorable or unique. Overall, I’d rate it about 6 out of 10. Nice place to visit once, but it didn’t quite stand out enough for me to make it a destination restaurant.

My most lovely Wife and I had set out on a journey for brunch and grocery and decided on Red Spire... so there we headed. On the way, my boss called and I told him where we were heading and he had mentioned that he and his wife had recently ate at The Dandy and said it was great. We continued to Red Spire to find that it was actually closed that day... we were bummed. Then I reminded her that my boss had mentioned The Dandy, and to find out that they are both owned by the same folks. So on we went and landed downtown TC at The Dandy. I ordered a veggie omelet and added bacon and sausage. I also had a bloody mary (YUM). My Lovely ordered crab Benedict And a mimosa. The omelet was cooked nicely with the vegetables still having body and not being mushy. Then I tasted my Wife's crab Benedict, and, WOW! That was stupendous! The esthetic was nice, The service was great, and the food was amazing. When we were finished, we stayed a few minutes and made romance in the early afternoon. 5/5...more if it was possible. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this place and hope to have the opportunity to come back and try it again. I went with a simple egg salad BLT because I felt like it was something unique that I had not seen before. I love the name, clean feel, and musical choices that I enjoyed at this restaurant.(cure, smiths, etc)
